North Street Closure in Newcastle for Reconstruction

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced a road closure on North Street, also known as Regional Road 17, in Newcastle, part of the Municipality of Clarington. This closure will be in effect from October 21 to December 18. The closure spans from Grady Drive to 550 metres north of Grady Drive.

The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the reconstruction of North Street to support new development in the area. The municipality has indicated that the schedule may be affected by adverse weather conditions.

Residents and drivers are advised to be cautious and mindful of the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews during this period. The municipality acknowledges the potential disruption caused by the construction and aims to complete the work efficiently.
