New Outdoor Amenities Unveiled at South Courtice Arena

On September 21, residents and officials gathered at South Courtice Arena to celebrate the opening of new outdoor amenities. The arena, located at 1595 Prestonvale Road, now features an accessible outdoor fitness area, two lit tennis courts, a multi-skills court, and a reconstructed path to the dog park. The outdoor fitness area was partially funded by the Government of Canada's Healthy Communities Initiative and is designed to be accessible for individuals using wheelchairs and other mobility aids.

Clarington Mayor Adrian Foster and members of the council were present for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Mayor Foster highlighted the importance of these new amenities in providing diverse recreational opportunities for residents of all ages and abilities.

The event included various family-friendly activities such as ice skating, tennis and fitness demonstrations, face painting, inflatables, and a prize wheel. Clarington Emergency and Fire Services were also present at the event.

For more information about the new amenities and upcoming events, residents can visit the Clarington municipal website.
