New Long-Term Care Home in Pickering Named Seaton Village

Durham Regional Council has approved the name for a new 200-bed long-term care home in Seaton, Pickering. The facility will be called Seaton Village. The home will be located between Brock Road and Whites Road in Pickering and is projected to open in fall 2026. It will include common spaces such as a bank, store, hair salon, worship centre, and fitness area. Additionally, the design will be dementia-friendly.

The name Seaton Village was selected through an online poll where community members voted on various proposed names. The poll aimed to capture the spirit of the Seaton community.

The Region of Durham is building this long-term care home with support from the Province of Ontario. The project is part of the region's efforts to address the needs of its growing population.
