New K-12 School Announced for Newcastle
The Ontario government has announced a new K-12 school will be built in Newcastle. This is part of a $1.3 billion investment to construct 30 new schools and expand 15 others across the province. The initiative is expected to create over 25,000 new student spaces and more than 1,600 licensed childcare spaces. The announcement was made by MPP David Piccini and Minister of Education Jill Dunlop.
The new school in Newcastle is planned to accommodate 1,445 students and will replace Clarke High School and Pines Senior Public School. It will be located on board-owned land at Grady Drive and Rudell Road in Clarington.
