New Judicial Appointments Announced in Ontario

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Arif Virani, announced new judicial appointments in Ontario. Lisa A. Wannamaker, previously an Assistant Crown Attorney in Peterborough, has been appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in Lindsay. She replaces Justice D.S. Gunsolus, who became a supernumerary judge in March 2022. Robin A. Bellows, a sole practitioner from Huntsville, has been appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of Justice in Parry Sound, replacing Justice J. Stothart, who will be transferred to Sudbury. These appointments are part of the judicial application process established in 2016, which focuses on transparency, merit, and diversity.
