NDP Terminates Supply and Confidence Agreement with Liberals

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh has announced the termination of the Supply and Confidence Agreement with the Liberal government, which was initially signed in 2022. In a video address, Singh stated that the Liberals are unable to effectively represent the interests of Canadians, claiming they are influenced by corporate interests.

The conclusion of the agreement does not automatically trigger an election. Singh indicated that a vote of non-confidence by a majority of parliamentarians would be necessary to prompt an election. He stated that the NDP is prepared for an election and will consider non-confidence votes on future confidence measures.
