Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for Sanitary Sewage Servicing in Port Perry Employment Area

The Regional Municipality of Durham is conducting a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Study to address the sanitary sewage servicing needs of the Port Perry Employment Area. This study aims to identify and evaluate various alternative sites for a new Sanitary Sewage Pumping Station (SSPS) and to select a preferred alternative that will facilitate servicing for currently non-serviced areas and support future growth in the Port Perry community. The MCEA is being carried out in accordance with the 'Schedule B' requirements of the MCEA, as amended in 2023. Public consultation is integral to the MCEA process, and a virtual Public Information Centre (PIC) is scheduled to allow residents to review the study background, existing conditions, and proposed solutions. Materials for the PIC will be available for review and download starting July 31, 2024, with comments accepted until September 30, 2024.
