MPAC's 2020 Municipal Partnership Report Presented to Clarington Committee

Kevin Yaraskavitch, Account Manager, and Natasha Dawood, Regional Manager from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC), presented the 2020 Municipal Partnership Report during the General Government Committee meeting on March 8, 2021. Mr. Yaraskavitch outlined the challenges faced by MPAC in 2020, particularly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He provided an overview of MPAC's mandate and the property assessment process in Ontario, specifically addressing Clarington's assessment base. He indicated uncertainty regarding the next evaluation date and highlighted the investments made in digitization to enhance efficiency and data sharing with municipal staff. An online tool was introduced that allows property owners to access information about their assessments. Despite office closures, MPAC remains active in communities across Ontario. The committee received the presentation with thanks, as noted in the meeting minutes.
