Motorcycle Collision in Uxbridge Results in Serious Injuries for Toronto Man

A 20-year-old male from Toronto sustained serious injuries following a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger van in Uxbridge.

On Monday, August 5, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., members of North Division responded to the incident at the intersection of Reach Street and Franklin Street. The collision involved a Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by the injured male, and a Dodge mini-van.

According to the Durham Region Police Service, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Reach Street, passing vehicles at a high rate of speed in the westbound lanes. The collision occurred when the Dodge mini-van exited a residential driveway to travel westbound and crossed into the westbound lanes, resulting in the motorcycle striking the van and throwing the rider from his bike.

The injured motorcyclist was initially transported to a local hospital and later airlifted to a trauma center in Toronto.

The Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene, and the area was closed for several hours for evidence collection. The investigation is ongoing.
