Minimum Wage in Ontario Increases to $17.60 Effective October 2025

The Ontario government has announced an increase in the province's minimum wage, set to rise from $17.20 to $17.60 per hour. This change will take effect on October 1, 2025. The adjustment is based on a 2.4% increase as indicated by the Ontario Consumer Price Index (CPI).

According to the Ministry of Labour, this modification is expected to result in an annual pay increase of up to $835 for those working full-time on minimum wage. This update ties wage growth to inflation, maintaining purchasing power for workers.

Official statements indicate that this is part of broader legislative adjustments concerning wages, aimed at aligning with the economic metrics of inflation without imparting evaluative or promotional language on living conditions.
