Marigold Hospice Care Seeks Additional Funding for Essential Needs

During the General Government Committee meeting on November 4, 2024, Marian Timmermans, a board member of Marigold Hospice Care, provided an update on the hospice's progress and financial needs. Timmermans announced that the grand opening of the hospice is scheduled for Fall 2025.

In her presentation, Timmermans detailed the current budget and the capital and operating budget for the 2024-2025 period. She highlighted that over half of the construction budget was secured through a legal tender process. However, she emphasized the need to raise an additional $1,000,000 to cover essential furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.

Timmermans requested the council's assistance in raising $800,000 to ensure the hospice's operations can commence smoothly. The committee received her delegation with thanks and agreed to engage with Marigold Hospice Care to explore appropriate recognition for the board members.
