Man Charged in Oshawa Shooting Death
A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Oshawa, according to the Durham Region Police Service. The incident, which occurred on December 31, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m., resulted in the death of 29-year-old Dennis Binda.
The shooting took place at 1040 Cedar Street, where Binda was found shot inside a building and pronounced dead at the scene. Following the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued on January 6, 2025, for Michael Mills, who was subsequently arrested in Whitby on January 8, 2025.
Mills has been charged with Second-Degree Murder. The police are continuing their investigation and are appealing to the public for any additional information. Individuals with information are encouraged to contact Det. MacKinnon of the Homicide Unit.
