Man Arrested After Stabbing Incident in Oshawa

A man has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Oshawa.

On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at approximately 12:55 a.m., officers from the Central East Division responded to a call about an armed person near Simcoe Street South and Mill Street. Two men were involved in a verbal altercation, which led to one man being stabbed.

Officers found the victim nearby and administered life-saving measures. The victim was then transported to a Toronto area trauma center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., officers located the suspect near Simcoe Street South and Albany Street in Oshawa and took him into custody without incident. Anthony Murray, age 35, of no fixed address, is charged with aggravated assault, possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, and failing to comply with a probation order.
