Loaded Handgun Found in Stolen Vehicle in Pickering
Police in Pickering conducted an operation resulting in the arrest of a male suspect and the seizure of a loaded handgun from a stolen vehicle. The incident unfolded on March 13, 2025, around 6:20 a.m., when officers responded to Skyridge Boulevard and Sapphire Drive following reports of a vehicle obstructing a driveway.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a male asleep in the driver's seat of the vehicle. Through investigation, it was determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen. During a subsequent search, a loaded handgun along with ammunition was found in the vehicle.
The Durham Region Police Service confirmed these details and reported that the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
