Liberty Street North Reservoir and Pumping Station Project Advances

The Liberty Street North Zone 1 Reservoir and Zone 2 Pumping Station project is advancing to its implementation phase. The project is located on the east side of Liberty Street North in Bowmanville, approximately 700 meters north of Concession Road 3. The Zone 2 Pumping Station will connect to the existing 300-millimeter watermain along Liberty Street, supplying water to the Zone 2 water pressure district.

The Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Addendum for the project was completed in 2022. This report includes the latest design parameters, background studies, field investigations, and recommendations for the revised reservoir and pumping station location at 3403 Liberty Street North.

Following the completion of the Class EA Addendum filing, the project is now moving to Phase 4, which involves implementation. The design phase is scheduled for 2022/2024, with construction expected to begin in 2025. Upon commissioning of the new reservoir and pumping station, the existing elevated storage structure at Church Street and Division Street will be demolished.
