Keswick Man Charged After Uxbridge Collision

A 47-year-old male from Keswick has been charged following a single-vehicle collision in Uxbridge. The incident occurred on July 19, 2024, at approximately 5:20 p.m. on Uxbridge Concession Road 7, south of Chalk Lake Road. The driver, operating a white GMC Sierra, lost control of the vehicle, which then entered a ditch and struck trees.

The driver was extracted by Uxbridge Fire Services and airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma center. Following an investigation by the Collision Investigation Unit, the driver, identified as Christopher Ransome, has been charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and exceeding the legal limit for alcohol. He was released on an undertaking.

The police are seeking further information regarding the collision or the activities of the involved party prior to the incident. Information can be provided to Detective Constable Lee of the Collision Investigation Unit. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers, with the possibility of a cash reward.
