John Howard Society Lease Extension Approved

The Municipality of Clarington has approved an extension of the lease agreement with the John Howard Society for their space at 132 Church Street, Bowmanville. The lease extension is set for the term from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022. The current annual rent of $16,248.38, excluding HST, will be adjusted on December 31 of each year based on the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index, All Items Ontario, as published by Statistics Canada. Additionally, the Purchasing Manager, in consultation with the Director of Community Services, has been granted the authority to extend the lease agreement for up to two additional one-year terms, expiring on December 31, 2024. This decision was made during the General Government Committee meeting held on November 30, 2020, and was carried unanimously.
