Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility Updates
During the General Government Committee meeting on March 20, 2023, the committee received Report CAO-009-23, which included updates on inclusion, diversity, equity, anti-racism, and accessibility initiatives. The committee approved the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Anti-Racism and Accessibility Training Plan for Council Policy. Additionally, it was resolved that Clarington’s Advisory Committees and Municipal Service Boards are required to share the Land Acknowledgment Statement at the beginning of their meetings, in accordance with the Land Acknowledgment Statement Guidelines. This requirement will also be included in the upcoming Procedural By-law Review.
