Impact of Seniors Community Grant on Clarington's Senior Active Living Centres

Clarington has received a Seniors Community Grant from the Province of Ontario’s Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility, amounting to up to $18,630. This funding will support a new program called Age Wise – Eat Right, Feel Right, which aims to educate older adults about nutrition, cooking safety, and independent living skills through cooking instruction. Mayor Adrian Foster stated, "Clarington is fortunate to be home to a vibrant and active older adult community, and we are strengthened by the way residents from all walks of life are included in our municipality." Todd McCarthy, MPP for Durham, emphasized the significance of Senior Active Living Centres, saying, "Our Senior Active Living Centres are an important part of our community here in Clarington. They bring seniors and the whole community together with services, activities and programs that make sure our seniors stay connected all year long."
