Health Department Issues Advisory for Driving in Construction Zones

The Durham Region Health Department has advised motorists to slow down and drive carefully in construction zones as construction season begins. The Health Department stated that an increase in construction activity is expected during this period, resulting in more workers present on local roads.

According to the Health Department, drivers should follow posted speed limits, remain alert, and be aware of workers and construction equipment in these areas. The advisory also noted that motorists may encounter lane changes, reduced speed zones, and flaggers directing traffic around construction sites.

The Health Department advises that following these guidelines is part of ensuring the safety of workers and motorists during construction projects in the region.
