Hate-Motivated Assault Investigated at Oshawa School

Durham Regional Police are investigating a hate-motivated assault that occurred at Maxwell Heights Secondary School in Oshawa. On February 3, 2025, around 11:45 a.m., the suspect allegedly approached the victim and made derogatory comments before attempting to remove the victim's headdress. A bystander intervened, aiding the victim and compelling the suspect to flee. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 50 and 60, with a height of approximately 6 feet, a heavy build, bald, unshaven, and wearing a black jacket at the time of the incident.
