GRCA Offers Tree and Shrub Planting Programs for Spring 2024

The Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority (GRCA) is offering several tree and shrub planting programs for Spring 2024. These programs are available to residents in the Township of Hamilton, Municipality of Port Hope, and Municipality of Clarington.

The Trees for Rural Roads Program provides free potted stock for planting along rural roads, away from utilities. Applications are due by March 31, 2024.

The Tree and Shrub Seedling Program offers over 25 species, priced between $0.90 and $2.25 each. Orders closed on March 1, 2024.

For properties with more than 2.5 acres of open land, the GRCA offers a full-service tree planting program. Funding is available through the 50 Million Tree Program and the Clean Water-Healthy Land Financial Assistance Program. Applications are available for an April pick-up at the GRCA office in Port Hope.
