Government Announces Funding for Nuclear Projects in Ontario

On March 5, 2025, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced new financial support for nuclear energy projects in Ontario. This includes $304 million for the next generation CANDU reactor project in Mississauga, Ontario, and $55 million through the Future Electricity Fund for the Darlington New Nuclear Project in Darlington, Ontario.

These investments are part of Canada's broader efforts to move towards a low-carbon economy, focusing on clean energy solutions and technological advancements in nuclear energy.
