Funding Approved for Community Events and Organizations

The General Government Committee of Clarington approved several sponsorship applications for community events during its meeting on June 1, 2020. The following applications were approved:

  1. Epilepsy Durham - $2,000, with the condition that the amount must be returned if the event is deferred to 2021.
  2. Newtonville Community Hall - $1,000 for a fall event.
  3. Newcastle Memorial Arena Board - $2,000.
  4. Bowmanville Memorial Hospital Foundation - $2,000.
  5. Grandview Children's Foundation - $2,000.
  6. Bethesda House - $600.
  7. Tyrone Community Centre - $500.
  8. Newcastle BIA - $2,000.
  9. Soper Valley Model Railroad - $800.
  10. Carion Fenn Foundation - $500.
  11. Newcastle Village and District Historical Society - $1,000.
  12. St. Paul's United Church - $1,000.
  13. Bowmanville Santa Claus Parade - $2,000.

These funding decisions reflect the committee's support for local initiatives and events that contribute to community engagement and development.
