Feasibility of Switching to Compostable Plastic Cups

During the General Government Committee meeting on February 18, 2020, a resolution was passed directing staff to review the use of compostable cups in place of single-use plastic cups. The review will involve consultations with the Hall Boards and the Bowmanville Older Adult Association. Staff are also tasked with providing an update on the same issue concerning the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex. This initiative aims to explore potential environmental benefits and operational implications associated with the transition to compostable cups .
