Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Regional Highway 2 in Clarington

A male has died following a motorcycle accident in Clarington.

On July 30, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Durham Regional Police Service members responded to a single motorcycle collision at Regional Highway 2 and Solina Road.

The motorcycle, a Kawasaki, was being operated by a 34-year-old male from Oshawa. He was traveling westbound in the curb lane when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the roadway into a ditch. The motorcycle traveled a significant distance in the ditch, resulting in the driver being ejected.

Air Ornge was prepared to transport the driver to a trauma center in Toronto; however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Collision Investigation Unit (CIU) of the Durham Regional Police Service attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. The investigation is ongoing.

Authorities are requesting anyone with cellphone, dashcam, or surveillance footage, or any information regarding the incident, to come forward.
