Environment Days Return to Durham Region Starting April 25

The Region of Durham has announced that Environment Days will take place across the municipality beginning April 25 in Pickering. According to the Region of Durham, these events will allow residents to bring items such as electronics, household hazardous waste, textiles, paper, and certain plastics for reuse or safe disposal.

The Region lists electronics, household hazardous waste (like old paint, batteries, and pesticides), textiles, documents for shredding, and specific plastic items among the accepted materials. Residents are advised by the Region to consult official guidelines to confirm which items are permitted before attending an event.

Environment Days are open to residents of Durham Region. The Region requests that individuals prepare their materials for quick drop-off and follow posted safety directions at event sites. Proof of residency may be required. The Region is responsible for overseeing collection and disposal at all events.
