Durham Region Plans Reconstruction of Darlington-Clark Townline Road
The Regional Municipality of Durham is planning to reconstruct Darlington-Clark Townline Road (Regional Road 42) from Regional Highway 2 to Concession Street in Clarington. The proposed scope of work includes road pavement reconstruction, modifications to the road's vertical profile to address drainage issues, the addition of paved shoulders to improve road durability, and ditching.
The project is currently in the detailed design phase and is scheduled for construction in 2026, subject to the completion of design, permitting, and Regional Council approval of construction funding.
