Durham Region Launches At Home Incentive Program for Affordable Housing Development

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced the At Home Incentive Program (AHIP), which aims to support the development of affordable rental housing. This program will provide capital funding and planning services to eligible projects. A total of $5.75 million is allocated for funding through AHIP this year.

To qualify for the program, projects must include a minimum of five affordable housing units. The initiative is part of the region's broader strategy to address housing affordability issues in the community.

The AHIP is designed to facilitate the construction of affordable housing by providing financial assistance and planning support to developers. This program is expected to contribute to the availability of more affordable rental options in the Durham Region, addressing the growing demand for such housing solutions.
