Durham Region Issues Update on Brock Township Storm Response

On April 4, 2025, the Region of Durham issued an update addressing the impacts of the recent freezing rain and ice accumulation affecting Brock Township. According to the Region of Durham, the local waste management facility in Brock Township remains closed due to a power outage. As a result, temporary bins have been established for Brock Township residents to dispose of storm-related household waste at designated locations.

Residents are advised that brush and debris from fallen branches and trees may be prepared for collection during the bi-weekly seasonal leaf and yard waste service, which is set to commence on April 7. Furthermore, specific waste management facilities, as designated by the Region of Durham, will temporarily accept storm-related yard waste without charging fees.

Regional maintenance crews are actively clearing debris from roadways. Residents should exercise heightened caution at intersections where traffic signals may be inoperative due to power outages.

These advisories and measures were communicated by the Region of Durham in their official emergency response update.
