Durham Region Installs New Left-Turn Signal in Pickering
The Regional Municipality of Durham has recently implemented a new traffic signal at the intersection of Brock Road and Pickering Parkway in Pickering. This modification involves the installation of a fully protected left-turn signal for vehicles turning southbound to eastbound. The objective of this change is to enhance safety and reduce collisions at the intersection. The new signal is designed to allow left turns only when a green arrow is displayed, ensuring that vehicles do not turn left when oncoming traffic is present. This initiative is part of the Durham Vision Zero plan, which aims to eliminate traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on the region's roads.
