The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced road reconstruction projects on Columbus Road East and Grandview Street. The construction will start in August 2024 and is expected to be completed by fall 2025, with a winter shutdown between December 2024 and May 2025.

The Columbus Road East project will cover the area from 150 meters west of Grandview Street to 75 meters east of Townline Road. The Grandview Street project will extend from 1.1 kilometers south of Columbus Road to 100 meters north of Columbus Road.

The scope of the work includes road widening, utility relocations, road shoulder widening, intersection improvements, road pavement reconstruction, ditch drainage improvements, culvert replacements, road grade adjustments, natural landscape planting and seeding, and wildlife passages.

Residents should expect changes in traffic patterns and possible delays during the construction period.
