Durham Region Announces Lane Shifts on Thickson Road North in Whitby Starting June 2

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced that lane shifts will take place on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in Whitby, between Consumers Drive and Stellar Drive/Champlain Avenue.

According to the announcement, the lane shifts are scheduled to begin the night of Sunday, June 2. The roadwork, which is part of a reconstruction project, is expected to continue for approximately 12 weeks. The Region indicated that the schedule is subject to change based on weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic flow in both directions is expected to be maintained during the construction period, though individual lanes may be closed when required for the project. The Regional Municipality of Durham also stated that access to businesses in the affected area will remain available during the lane shifts.
