Durham Police Host Events to Help Students with Graduation Attire
The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is facilitating two events aimed at assisting local students with access to prom and graduation attire. These events are titled 'Gowns for Grads' and 'Suits for Youths.'
The 'Gowns for Grads' event will distribute dresses and relevant accessories. It will also hold raffles for manicures, pedicures, hair appointments, and makeup. This event is arranged to occur on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at G.L. Roberts Collegiate and Vocational Institute in Oshawa from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
‘Suits for Youths’ is designed to provide suits, ties, and additional accessories, which are also useful for job interviews. This gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Oshawa Centre, 419 King St W, Oshawa, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
These initiatives aim to support students who might find it challenging to cover the costs associated with graduation clothing. DRPS is requesting community support in the form of donations such as clothing and accessories. Both events are open to students seeking assistance to participate in their graduation ceremonies.
