Durham College (DC) in Oshawa, Ontario, will introduce four new programs in September 2024. These programs are the Law Clerk diploma, Professional Selling and Business Development graduate certificate, Clinical Bioinformatics graduate certificate, and Public Relations graduate certificate. The college aims to equip students with skills and knowledge relevant to current job market demands.

Dr. Jean Choi, Vice President, Academic and Students at DC, stated that there is a growing demand for professionals in these fields. The new Clinical Bioinformatics program addresses the need for expertise in health sciences, particularly in genomics and proteomics. Graduates from this program can pursue careers in clinical data analysis, clinical research, or genetic counseling.

The introduction of these programs is part of DC's strategy to stay ahead of workforce trends by conducting labor market analysis and consulting with industry professionals. The college offers more than 145 programs designed to meet employer and industry needs.
