Drug Investigation in Ajax Leads to Multiple Arrests and Seizures
Seven adults and one youth have been charged following a drug investigation in Ajax. The Durham Region Police Service's Drug Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Tactical Support Unit, executed search warrants on October 11, 2024, at a residence and several vehicles near Delaney Drive and Westney Road North.
The search resulted in the seizure of two loaded handguns, an overcapacity magazine, an extended magazine, a fully automatic selector switch, two kilograms of cocaine, fentanyl, and hydromorphone.
The individuals charged include Nazimul Ahmed, 56, from Ajax; Cyril John DaSilva, 52, from Pickering; John Junior DaSilva, 28, from Trenton; and a 14-year-old male from Oshawa. Charges against them include possession of Schedule I substances for trafficking, possession of loaded restricted/prohibited firearms, and possession of prohibited/restricted devices.
The seven adults were held for a bail hearing, while the youth was released on an undertaking. The allegations have not yet been proven in court.
