Downtown Bowmanville Fire Under Investigation

A fire broke out in downtown Bowmanville early Tuesday morning, affecting properties along King Street West between Scugog Street and Temperance Street. Clarington Emergency and Fire Services (CEFS), with the help of Oshawa Fire, responded to the incident. The fire has been reported as under control, but it is not yet fully extinguished, according to statements from CEFS.

Residents in affected buildings were evacuated, with warming stations provided to accommodate those displaced by the incident. The Ontario Fire Marshal is conducting an investigation to establish the cause and origin of the fire.

King Street West remains closed between Scugog Street and Temperance Street, and authorities advise avoiding the area until further notice due to ongoing investigations and cleanup operations.
