Demolition of West Beach Cottages Authorized

The General Government Committee of Clarington has authorized the demolition of two cottages located at #16 and #32 West Beach Road in Bowmanville. This decision was made during the committee meeting held on December 4, 2023. Prior to the demolition, staff will create a digital photographic record of the existing cottages to preserve the historical legacy of West Beach. This documentation aims to ensure that the character of West Beach can potentially be recreated in future developments of a waterfront park. The necessary funds for the demolition will be drawn from the Land Acquisition Maintenance account.
