Community Input Sought for New Park Name in Bowmanville

Clarington is inviting residents to participate in the naming process for a new neighborhood park located at 3301 Middle Road in Bowmanville. The park is set to open in late fall 2024 and will feature an accessible playground, a large shade structure, a splash pad, a softball diamond with supporting amenities, significant landscaping, benches, paved walkways, and a parking lot. According to the park naming policies, new parks should be named after the streets they are located on, a previous historical attribute, or an existing natural feature. Residents can submit their name suggestions or rank three proposed names on the Clarington website. The submissions will be evaluated by Clarington staff, and the best ideas will be presented to the Council for a final decision in September 2024. Further details about the park's amenities and a grand opening event will be announced later this fall.
