Closure of Public Access to 101 Consumers Drive in Whitby

The Regional Municipality of Durham has announced the closure of public access to the Regional building at 101 Consumers Drive in Whitby due to renovation work. This closure will begin at 10 a.m. on July 26, 2024, and will remain in effect until further notice. During this period, several in-person Health Department services will be disrupted. Specifically, in-person submissions for applications related to Part 8 septic systems, payments for these systems, and applications for special events or new businesses will not be available at this location. However, these services will continue at the Health Department’s north office located at 181 Perry Street, Port Perry, from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Additionally, applications, permits, and forms can be submitted at the public front counter of the Region’s Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East in Whitby during the same hours or completed online. In-person water sample drop-offs and pick-ups for private wells will also be unavailable at 101 Consumers Drive. Public water sample drop-offs will continue at the Region’s Headquarters from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. For more information on additional water sample drop-off locations, residents can visit durham.ca/PrivateWells.
