Closure of Bowmanville Tourism Information Centre

The General Government Committee of Clarington has approved the permanent closure of the Tourism Information Centre located at 181 Liberty Street, Bowmanville. This decision was made during the meeting held on May 31, 2021, where the committee voted in favor of the closure with a recorded vote of 4 to 2. The council also supported a revised Tourism Service Delivery Model as presented in the report. Furthermore, staff have been directed to investigate future options for the building, which may include upgrading, repurposing, relocation, or demolition. Necessary funds for these considerations will be included in the 2022 budget.
