Clarington Playground Vandalized with Hate Symbols; Police Seek Witnesses

Durham Region Police are investigating an act of vandalism involving hate-motivated graffiti on playground equipment in Clarington. On March 1, 2025, police responded to reports from Stuart Park, located at 58 Stuart Road, where swastikas and profane language were found spray-painted on a slide and beneath a playground panel. Authorities believe the graffiti was applied between 3:00 p.m. on February 28 and 4:00 p.m. on March 1. The graffiti has since been removed by police and municipal staff. Police are calling for witnesses who may have been in the area during the mentioned time to assist in the investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Durham Crime Stoppers or the investigating detective.
