Clarington Man Arrested in Human Trafficking Investigation

Police have arrested a 29-year-old male from Clarington following a human trafficking investigation. On August 28, 2024, members of the Human Trafficking Unit, with assistance from the Peterborough Police Service, executed a search warrant on a residence and two vehicles. Various items related to the offences were seized, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Pavithiran Chandrakumar faces charges of Material Benefit from Sexual Services, Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration, and Exercising Control (two counts). He was held for a bail hearing. Police are seeking additional information and potential victims.
