Clarington Mail Services Affected by Canada Post Labour Disruption
The Municipality of Clarington has announced that a labour disruption at Canada Post will affect all incoming and outgoing mail services. This disruption means that the municipality will not be able to send large mail distributions or receive incoming mail.
Residents are advised to use alternative methods to access municipal services during this period. For example, water and sanitary bills can be accessed and paid through the Durham Region’s online portal. Payments can also be made at financial institutions or by cheque at designated drop box locations.
The delivery of new water and sanitary sewer bills will be delayed until the postal disruption ends, with payment dates adjusted accordingly. Residents who have already received an invoice are still responsible for payment by the due date noted on the bill.
Ontario Works clients who normally receive payments by mail will need to pick up their cheques at local offices. Direct deposit and Reloadable Payment Card recipients will not be affected.
The municipality encourages residents to stay informed about the disruption and to use online services where possible to minimize inconvenience.
