Clarington Libraries Host Freedom to Read Week 2025 Displays

Residents of Clarington can participate in Freedom to Read Week from February 23 to March 1, 2025, with scheduled activities taking place at local library branches. This event features displays of various books that have been challenged or banned in the past.

The event is organized by Library and Archives Canada in collaboration with the Canadian Urban Libraries Council and the Ontario Library Association, in partnership with the Book and Periodical Council. The focus of the event is to bring attention to issues related to intellectual freedom.

Local libraries will provide access to a range of these books to encourage exploration and self-directed learning.
