Clarington Council Implements Program to Eliminate Single-Use Plastics
On September 23, 2019, the Clarington General Government Committee passed Resolution # GG-439-19, directing staff to develop and implement a program aimed at eliminating single-use plastics in municipal facilities and buildings, where environmentally responsible alternatives exist. The resolution mandates that staff report back to the Council after six months to provide highlights of the program and results achieved. The Clarington Public Library, Clarington Museums & Archives, and municipality-owned or board-operated community halls and arenas will be informed of these decisions.
