Clarington Completes 2024 Sidewalk Improvement Projects
Clarington has completed its sidewalk improvement projects for 2024, enhancing pedestrian pathways across the municipality. The improvements included nearly 265 metres of new and upgraded sidewalks, pathways, and crosswalks, which is approximately the length of three football fields.
The specific improvements made this year include:
- Enhancements to pedestrian connectivity along Church Street in Bowmanville.
- A new path from the basketball court to the sidewalk at Quinn Drive at Optimist Park in Bowmanville.
- A new sidewalk constructed from Solina Hall to Solina Road on Concession 6.
- Relocation of a school crossing and the addition of a new Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) to improve safety, along with new sidewalks on West Side Drive in Bowmanville.
- Development of a crossing on the Toyota Trail at Haines Street in Bowmanville.
These projects are part of ongoing efforts by municipal staff to improve accessibility and safety within the community.
