Clarington Awards Contract for Sidewalk Snow Clearing Equipment

The Municipality of Clarington has awarded a contract for the supply and delivery of sidewalk snow clearing equipment to Karcher Municipal North America Inc. The total bid amount is $904,434.84 (Net HST Rebate), which was determined to be the lowest compliant bid meeting all terms, conditions, and specifications of tender CL2023-12. The contract includes the provision of five sidewalk tractors for winter maintenance, as required by the Public Works Department. The total funds required for this project amount to $908,934.84 (Net HST Rebate), which encompasses the equipment costs and additional expenses such as radios, GPS units, and Clarington decal lettering and striping, totaling $4,500.00 (Net HST Rebate). These funds are included in the approved 2022/2023 Capital Budget and will be sourced from various accounts, including $300,000 from the 2022 budget and $600,000 from the 2023 budget, along with $8,934.84 from additional funds for tax rate stabilization.
