Clarington Approves Physician Recruitment Incentive Program
The General Government Committee of Clarington approved a new Physician Recruitment Incentive Program during its meeting on April 11, 2022. The program will provide up to $25,000 per doctor, contingent upon matching contributions from medical offices. An additional $250,000 will be allocated from the Economic Development Reserve Fund to support the recruitment of up to 10 doctors. This initiative is modeled after a similar pilot program in the Town of Whitby. The decision aims to enhance healthcare services in Clarington by attracting more medical professionals to the area.
