Clarington Approves Flyby Request for Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Events

The Municipality of Clarington has approved a request for low-altitude flybys by Canadian Armed Forces aircraft at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. This decision was made during the General Government Committee meeting held on January 6, 2020. The resolution, moved by Councillor Hooper and seconded by Councillor Traill, supports flybys as low as 500 feet for three specific events: the Castrol Victoria Day SpeedFest on May 17, 2020, the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix on July 5, 2020, and the Chevrolet Silverado 250 on September 6, 2020. The resolution was carried unanimously. The letters of support will be sent to relevant authorities to facilitate this request.
